

Sally grew up in the North, coming South in her early 20s to pursue a glittering legal career (and, indirectly, her husband). Sally’s legal career came to an abrupt halt when her son was diagnosed with leukaemia. After what could be described as ‘a fairly tough time’ the daisies started to grow under their feet again and the son is now a strapping, healthy 10 year old with a sparky, 8 year old sister. Together they have loose custody of a wayward 3 legged English springer spaniel called Fred who sometimes thinks he’s a cat. After many happy years in Hampshire, Sally’s family can now be found kicking up their heels by the sea in Ceredigon on the beautiful West Wales coast.
Sally’s blog, Recipe Junkie and the Attack of the Custard Creams, started out in part to document her self-imposed challenge to bake everything in How to Be a Domestic Goddess when her son was ill and life was crazy. However it kick started a whole new career which allows Sally to write enthusiastically and passionately for a number of small businesses, and generally mess about on the internet. If she’s not tapping away on the laptop, or baking a cake, you’ll find her in the sea or up a mountain. She still hasn’t finished Domestic Goddess…

My ‘perfect day’ (or weekend) has changed a lot over the years, but right now it includes family and friends, fresh air, good food, a fire and a gin & tonic. You can fit most of that in – to a greater or lesser degree – whatever the season or the weather.
